Regular
Health Examinations: : It is important to detect medical problems as early as possible. Health checks begin with a puppy or kitten’s first weeks and extend through the senior years. Yearly examinations are recommended.
Vaccinations : One of the most effective ways of protecting your pet's health is to provide immunization against various common and sometimes deadly diseases. We provide low cost Distemper, Parvovirus, Corona virus, Bordatella, Rabies, FVRCP, FeLV, Giardia, and Lyme vaccines on a daily basis.
Diagnostic Medicine :Determining the correct diagnosis of your pet's problem is very important in the successful treatment and ultimate recovery of your pet. Obtaining the proper diagnosis may require bloodwork, urinalyses, cultures, radiographs, electrocardiograms, ultrasound or endoscopy, in addition to a thorough physical examination.
General Surgery : Our state-of-the-art surgical suite has the most advanced surgical equipment. We monitor the patient's vital signs, including blood pressure, heart rate, and oxygen saturation during surgery. We utilize the best available inhalant anesthetics (Isoflurane and Sevoflurane) to provide the safest anesthetic experience , especially for our older or high-risk patients. We use circulating hot water pads to help maintain body temperature during surgery, which helps reduce trauma and improve the overall recovery from surgery. We are equipped to perform a variety of soft tissue, orthopedic, gastrointestinal, and elective surgeries. We offer ultrasonography, endoscopy, and telemedicine capabilities
Laser Surgery : A laser is a very intense beam of highly focused light. It can be used for very small, precise cuts for biopsy, eye surgery, or the removal of a tumor with fewer side effects. As it cuts, the laser automatically seals small blood vessels and nerve endings around the cut, which results in less bleeding and less pain. The benefits of laser surgery are tremendous, including less pain, less bleeding, less chance of infection, faster recovery for your pet, and increased survival rate for cancer treatment. Visit Accuvet.com to learn more about laser surgery.
Digital Radiology : We use the Eklin digital radiography system to produce the highest quality x-rays. We are able to electronically transmit these x-rays directly to Washington State University School of Veterinary Medicine for immediate consultation with a board certified radiologist. All x-ray images are copied to a CD for each client to take home with them.
Radiology Telemedicine : All of our radiographs are sent electronically to our board certified radiology specialist who provides immediate interpretation of every image. Clients are provided with a printed radiology consultation report and a CD of their pet’s x-rays upon discharge.
EKG : This is a specialized kind of cardiac sonogram used to view the heart. The transducer is placed in position at an angle designed to bounce sound waves off the walls and valves of the heart in order examine heart chamber size, wall motion, valve movements, and structural changes in and around the heart, as well as the aorta, carotid (neck) arteries, and renal (kidney) arteries. This procedure is designed to investigate cardiac and blood vessel problems like heart murmurs or congestive heart failure.
Telemedicine Electrocardiography : Through the telephone line, your pet’s EKG is transmitted to a panel of 18 board certified cardiologist for evaluation
and interpretation.
Ultrasound : In ultrasound, a device called a transducer emits very high frequency sound waves into the animal's body and measures when the waves bounce back. A computer interprets the pattern of sound reflection and creates a moving image on a monitor. Ultrasound is painless and requires no chemicals, radiation, or entry into the body. It allows us to visualize internal organs with more clarity and detail than regular x-ray.
Endoscopy : Endoscopy allows doctors to see an animal's internal organs by inserting a long, flexible tube into the body. The tip of the tube contains a video chip and a strobe light, and it captures images and sends them to a video monitor. The endoscope can be inserted through the mouth to look at the upper gastrointestinal tract (GI endoscopy) or the lungs (brachioscopy), into the rectum to examine the colon (colonoscopy), into the nose (rhinoscopy), or into the joints (arthroscopy). This procedure lets veterinarians see internal tissue without performing invasive surgery. The veterinarian can also insert instruments through the tube and remove tissue to biopsy for additional diagnostic information.
Dentistry with Digital Dental X-Ray facilities : It is important to have your pet’s teeth examined and cleaned on a regular basis to protect their teeth and gums. Our specialized dental services include ultrasonic scaling, polishing, fluoride treatment, tooth extraction, oral surgery, endodonics (root canals), and digital dental x-rays. All clients are given copies of their pet’s dental x-rays to take home with them.
Dermatology (Skin & Ear Care) : We will examine your pet to determine what the source of the problem may be, then develop a treatment plan to help relieve your pet’s discomfort. Pets can have food allergies, flea allergies and even grass allergies. A single flea bite may result in an allergic reaction. We use hydrosurge treatments with medicated shampoos to effectively cleanse and treat your pet’s skin. Your pet’s ears can become infected and irritated. We use an ear flush system under anesthesia to remove all of the accumulated debri and visualize your pet’s ear canals and ear drums with our MedRx scope. We provide you with before and after photographs of your pet’s ears so you can see just how dirty they were!
On Site Laboratory : Our diagnostic facilities include complete laboratory services such as serum chemistry and electrolyte serology, hematology, urinalysis, and parasite detection. These tests are important in diagnosing your pet's medical health condition, and in developing preventative pet health care programs. When needed, we use university and veterinary laboratories for specialized diagnostics.
Full Service Pharmacy : Our in-house pharmacy offers convenience for clients requiring medications for their pets. We can provide prescriptions in different forms to help make it easier for you to medicate your pet. We also work closely with an outside pharmacy that can compound medications to your pet’s specific needs. Your pet’s medication can be flavored for your pet’s particular taste.
Pain Management : Pets experience pain just like humans do. When your pet is experiencing a severe medical condition or suffering from an injury, they may require pain medication. We utilize pain management during many medical and all surgical procedures. Simply anesthetizing a pet does not reduce their pain. Proper pain management can help reduce the amount of stress and trauma your pet experiences, and helps speeds up their recovery time.
Nutritional Counseling and Weight Loss Programs : As pets move through their life cycle, their nutritional requirements change. Puppies and kittens need more protein for growth. Active pets require different caloric intake than sedentary pets. And as pets get older, their diets should change to reflect their needs. Senior pets require a lower fat, high fiber or low protein diet. We will discuss your pet's lifestyle and special needs, and consider his/her laboratory findings to determine if your pet requires a specialized diet. A proper diet is vital to the health of your pet at any age. We discuss with you the dietary requirements essential for proper weight maintenance, performance, growth, and as an aid in the treatment of diseases such as kidney disease, diabetes, liver disease, urinary stones, gastrointestinal disorders, and periodontal disease
Hydrotherapy Treadmill : Our clinic provides state-of-the-art canine physical rehabilitation services. Our underwater treadmill The canine underwater provides low impact exercise in a reduced gravity environment. Hydrotherapy helps reduce pain and swelling, as well as increases range of motion, movement, and strength. Hydrotherapy rehabilitation works by decreasing pain, inflammation and swelling, improving blood flow, promoting early mobilization and normal movement patterns, minimizing muscle atrophy, and improving the general attitude and spirit through mental and physical stimulation.
